Texans Hiring Brad Seely As Special Teams Coach

Adam Schefter reports that the Texans are hiring former Raiders coach Brad Seely as their new special teams coach.

Schefter points out that Seely has ties to Texans HC Bill O’Brien from their time together in New England.

Seely, 61, began his NFL coaching career back in 1989 with the Colts as their special teams coach/TEs coach. Since then, he’s worked for a number of teams including the Jets, Panthers, Patriots, Browns and 49ers before the Raiders hired him as their special teams coach in 2015.

Football Outsiders has the Raiders’ special teams ranked as the No. 17 unit for the 2017 season.
