Texans In Talks With ILB Akeem Dent, Has Interest From Two Other Teams

Hadley Engelhard, the agent for free agent ILB Akeem Dent, tells Mark Berman of MyFoxHouston.com that he’s been in talks with the Texans about his client.

  • According to Engelhard, they are having “extensive dialogue with two other teams.”

The inside linebacker market has been very quiet in recent days, despite some notable players still available.

Dent, 27, is a former third round pick  of the Falcons back in 2011. Atlanta traded him to the Texans in return for QB T.J. Yates in June of last year.

In 2014, Dent appeared in 15 games and recorded 38 tackles and a sack for the Texans. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 227 snaps last year, but he does have a solid rating as a pass-rusher.
