The Houston Texans announced Friday that they’ve waived S Mike Tyson and placed LB Duke Ejiofor on the reserve/injured list.
Ejiofor, unfortunately, suffered a torn Achilles and miss the entire 2019 season.
Ejiofor, 24, was drafted by the Texans in the sixth round out of Wake Forest in 2018. He signed a four-year deal worth $2.6 million.
In 2018, Ejiofor appeared in 12 games and recorded 8 total tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery and two pass defenses.
Tyson, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason last year before signing on to the Seahawks practice squad and eventually being promoted in December.
The Seahawks, once again, waived Tyson at the start of the regular season and he elected to sign on to the Texans’ practice squad. Houston promoted him to their active roster in October.
In 2018, Tyson appeared in 10 games for the Texans and recorded five tackles, no interceptions and a pass defense.
