Texans Place S Lonnie Ballentine On Injured Reserve

The Houston Texans announced that they’ve officially placed S Lonnie Ballentine on injured reserve Saturday.

Ballentine, 23, was taken in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL draft by the Texans. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but wound up being placed on season-ending injured reserve that season.

Ballentineโ€™s 2015 season came to an end after dislocating his left knee and tearing his MCL and PCL.

The Texans activated Ballentine from the PUP list a few weeks ago.

He has two years remaining on hisย four-year, $2,265,896 rookie contractย thatย included a $45,896 signing bonus. Ballentine will make $525,000ย (2016) andย $690,000 (2017) over the remainder of the agreement.

In 2016, Ballentine appeared in two games but did not record a statistic.
