Texans Sign Second-Round Pick G Xavier Su’a-Filo

ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports that the Houston Texans have signed second-round pick G Xavier Su’a-Filo.

The Texans now have all of their 2014 draft picks under contract.

Su’a-Filo’s four-year contract is worth an estimated $5,551,598 with a signing bonus of $2,357,528 according to OverTheCap.com.

Su’a-Filo is likely to slide right into the starting left guard position to replace G Wade Smith.  Su’a-Filo did play some tackle at UCLA, but it would appear that he could make more of an immediate impact at left guard.

The Texans offensive line gave up forty sacks last year.  With QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and fourth-round pick QB Tom Savage as the top two options on the depth chart respectively, it is imperative that Houston gets better play from the line.
