Ian Rapoport reports that the Texans are signing P Bryan Anger to a three-year contract extension.
Anger, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2012 out of California. He played out his rookie contract and later signed a five-year extension worth $17 million with the Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers released Anger back in March and he later signed on with the Texans last summer. Houston cut him loose coming out of the preseason but re-signed him a couple of weeks later.
In 2019, Anger has appeared in 13 games and recorded 40 punts for 1,846 yards (46.2 yard average) for two touchbacks and a long of 71 yards. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 12 overall punter out of 31 qualifying players.
