Texans Sign TE C.J. Fiedorowicz To Three-Year, $21.5M Extension

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans finalizing a three-year extension for TE C.J. Fiedorowicz that should average roughly $7 million per year.

  • According to Adam Schefter, Fiedorowicz receives a three-year, $21.5 million extension with $10 million guaranteed.

This is now the third player the Texans have locked up in the past few hours, so they’re clearly making it a point to get their young talented locked up before the regular season is under way.

At $7 million per year, Fiedorowicz’s contract would be in line with the three-year, $21 million contract signed by Packers TE Martellus Bennett. that included $6.3 million guaranteed.

Fiedorowicz, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Texans back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $3.95 million contract and set to make a base salary of $831,810 for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Fiedorowicz appeared in 15 games for the Texans and caught 54 passes for 559 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 16 tight end out of 62 qualifying players.
