Texans Trade WR Keshawn Martin & 6th-Rd Pick To Patriots For A 5th-Rd Pick

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports thatย the Texans will receiveย a fifth-round pick from the New England Patriots in return for WR Keshawn Martinย andย a sixth-round pick.

The Houston Texans have tradedย wide receiver Keshawn Martin to the New Englandย Patriots on Wednesday, according to Mark Berman.

Martin, 25,ย is a formerย fourth-round pick on Martin back in 2012. He is in the final year of his four-year, $2.512 million rookie contract that included a $412,560 signing bonus. He stands to make a base salary ofย $660,000 for the 2015 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, tradingย will free up $660,000 in available cap space while creating $103,140ย in dead money.

In 2014, Martin appeared in all 16 games for the Texans and caught six passes for 78 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also total 154 punt return yards.
