Three Teams Have Shown Interest In Veteran QB Jason Campbell

Peter Schrager of FOX Sports reports that “at least” three NFL teams have recently inquired about free agent QB Jason Campbell. However, none of the situations were reportedly right for Campbell.

Schrager, unfortunately, doesn’t offer any specifics as to who these three teams are.

The backup quarterback market has really picked up in the past few weeks, even though some of the players recently signed to contracts are unlikely to make the 53-man roster.

Last we heard regarding Campbell, reports said he was expected to retire from the NFL.

Campbell, 33, is a former first-round pick of the Redskins back in 2005, who was later traded to the Raiders for a fourth-round pick in 2010. Since then, Campbell has played for the Bears, Browns and Bengals.

Last year, Campbell appeared in four games and three for 74 yards while completing 57.9 precent of his passes to go along with no touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding Campbell and his future in the NFL as the news is available.
