Three Teams Reportedly Eyeing Notre Dame TE Cole Kmet Late In Round One

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media said Thursday that three teams to keep an eye on for Notre Dame TE Cole Kmet in round one are the Patriots, Packers and 49ers.

Pelissero mentions that Kmet is the consensus top tight end prospect in this year’s class and there has been increasing buzz about the possibility of him being selected on day one of the draft.

For what it’s worth, Mel Kiper has Kmet going to the Packers in his final mock draft.

Kmet, 21, was a two-year starter at Notre Dame and is considered to be the best all around tight end prospect by some notable draft evaluators.

Lance Zierlein compares Kmet to Tyler Higbee.

During his college career at Notre Dame, Kmet appeared in 23 games over the course of three seasons and caught 60 passes for 691 yards receiving and six touchdowns.
