Titans Roster Cuts Including WR Hakeem Nicks

Update:

The Tennessee Titans have released WR Hakeem Nicks, as they continue to trim their roster down to 53 players, via Terry McCormick.

Nicks, 27, signed a one-year contract with $100,000 guaranteed with the Titans back in April. Though Nicks was said to be playing well during the team’s offseason program, he finds himself being a free agent once again.

It is worth mentioning that Nicks had an apparent leg injury in the team’s third preseason game that forced him to leave the playing field.

In 2014, Nicks appeared in all 16 games while with the Colts, but could only reel in 38 receptions for 405 yards and four touchdowns. He finished the season ranked as the No. 105 overall receiver out of 110 possible qualifies.

The Tennessee Titans announced that they’ve cut nine players on Friday, as they work to get their roster down to 53 players by tomorrow’s deadline.

The Titans either waived or released:

Studebaker, 29, is a former sixth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2008. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and later signed a two-year agreement with the Chiefs in November of 2008.

Studebaker wound up spending five years in total with the Chiefs before joining the Colts in October of 2013. The Titans signed him to a contract just a few weeks ago.

Last year, Studebaker appeared in 13 games for the Colts and recorded 15 tackles, a forced fumble and a recovery.
