According to Adam Schefter, the Titans have used the franchise tag on RB Derrick Henry.
After locking up QB Ryan Tannehill to a multi-year extension, this keeps another major core piece of Tennessee’s 2019 offense in place for next season.
Under the tag, Henry will make a salary of $12.36 million fully guaranteed for the 2020 season.
Henry, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Titans back in 2016. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $5.407 million contract and set to make a base salary of $1.18 million for the 2019 season.
Henry was set be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
In 2019, Henry appeared in 15 games for the Titans and rushed 303 times for 1,540 yards (5.1 YPC) and 16 touchdowns. He’s also added 18 receptions for 206 yards and two touchdowns.
We have Henry featured in our Top 50 – 2020 NFL Free Agents list.
