The Tennesee Titans brought in free agent defensive backs Greg Mabin and Breon Borders for tryouts on Thursday, according to Albert Breer.
Mabin, 26, wound up going undrafted out of Iowa back in 2017. He later signed on with the Buccaneers but was cut loose a few days later.
Mabin had a brief stint with the Bills before signing on to the 49ers’ practice squad during the 2017 season. San Francisco elected to cut Mabin loose with an injury settlement last year and he signed on with the Bengals a few weeks later.
Mabin was on and off of the Bengals’ practice squad last year before returning to Cincinnati this past March. He was, unfortunately, among their final roster cuts prior to the start of the season.
In 2019, Mabin appeared in nine games for the Bengals and recorded two tackles, no interceptions, and a pass defended.
Borders, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Duke back in 2017. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Raiders cut him loose coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.
The Bills signed Borders to their roster but waived him coming out of the preseason the following year. He had stints on the practice squad with the Texans and Jaguars before being signed to Jacksonville’s active roster.
Borders made the Jaguars’ final roster in 2019 but was waived and later re-signed to the practice squad. He had brief stints with Washington and the Steelers before being claimed by the Dolphins.
Miami waived Borders heading into the season.
In 2019, Borders appeared in 12 games for the Jaguars and Redskins, recording 12 total tackles and one fumble recovery.
