TRADE: Buccaneers Trading S J.J. Wilcox To Steelers

Jason La Canfora is reporting that the Steelers are acquiring veteran S J.J. Wilcox in a trade with the Buccaneers.

  • According to Adam Schefter, the Buccaneers receive a 2018  sixth-round pick from the Steelers in return for Wilcox and a 2019 seventh-round pick.

Wilcox, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2013. He has played out his four-year, $2,811,068 contract with the Cowboys before signing a two-contract with the Buccaneers worth up to $8.5 million.

In 2016, Wilcox appeared in 13 games and recorded 49 tackles, one interception, a forced fumble and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 safety out of 89 qualifying players.
