According to Vic Tafur, the Raiders have traded CB Gareon Conley to the Texans for a third-round pick.
Once again, the Texans have shown themselves to be aggressive traders with HC Bill O’Brien at the helm. Houston was rumored to be interested in acquiring cornerback help following a series of injuries in the secondary this week.
Conley meanwhile is a former first-round pick who had yet to find his stride with the Raiders. He was part of an Oakland secondary that was just torched Sunday by Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
Conley, 24, was drafted by Raiders in the first round out of Ohio State back in 2017. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $10.46 million contract and set to make a base salary of $1.41 million for the 2019 season.
Conley’s contract includes a fifth-year option for the Texans to pick up in 2020.
In 2019, Conley has appeared in six games and recorded 23 total tackles, one interception and two pass defenses.
