TRADE: Raiders Trading WR Ryan Switzer To Steelers

According to Jordan Schultz, the Raiders are finalizing a trade with the Steelers that will send WR Ryan Switzer to Pittsburgh.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that the Steelers receive Switzer and a 2019 sixth-round pick from the Raiders in return for a 2019 fifth-round selection.

It’s somewhat surprising to see the Raiders move on from Switzer after four months, but it’s probably for the best to trade him now if they really felt he wasn’t going to have a role.

Switzer, 23, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2017. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2.96 million contract and set to make base salaries of $555,000 and $645,000 over the next two years of the agreement.

The Cowboys traded Switzer to the Raiders in return for DL Jihad Ward back in April.

In 2017, Switzer appeared in all 16 games and caught for six passes for 41 yards receiving and four touchdowns. He also totaled 600 kick return yards and 256 punt return yards and one touchdown.
