According to Manish Mehta, the Jets have traded for Ravens G Alex Lewis.
The Jets will send a conditional 2020 seventh-round pick to the Ravens for Lewis, per Brian Costello.
Lewis announced on his Instagram earlier today he was being released, but the Jets swooped in to offer a deal for Lewis before he was placed on waivers.
Lewis had just passed his physical following his shoulder injury, per Jeff Zrebiec, and was set to join the competition for the Ravens starting left guard position.
Lewis, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2016. He is entering the final year of his four-year, $2.831 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $828,539 for the 2019 season.
In 2018, Lewis appeared in 10 games for the Ravens while starting all of them. He was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 67 guard out of 77 qualifying players.
