Trading Up For Texas A&M WR Mike Evans An Option For The 49ers & Giants?

According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen (per Evan Silva), the 49ers could be “ready to do something big” in this year’s draft.

The 49ers are a team people are starting to talk about as someone who could be very aggressive in this draft,” said Mortensen Friday, per Silva.

Interestingly enough, Mortensen suggested the possibility of them trading up for Texas A&M WR Mike Evans.

The Raiders are reportedly open to trading their No. 5 overall pick, but that would be a move down the board for a team with a lot of needs. Even so, it could really help out given that Oakland has only seven picks with three of them coming in the final round.

Reports from earlier in the day mentioned that many around the league expect their to be a lot of movement in the first-round, especially in later portion.

San Francisco is armed with 11 draft picks to work with, which includes six selection in the top 100, so they have as much draft capitol as any team to make a serious move up for an impact player.

Last year, the 49ers traded up for LSU Eric Reid to fill the void left by Dashon Goldson signing with the Buccaneers.

Evans would give them a huge target and an awesome deep-threat for Colin Kaepernick to target.

This was our thinking when we gave the 49ers FSU WR Kelvin Benjamin in our brand new 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
