Cam Inman of the Bay Area News reports that the Los Angeles police booked Aldon Smith for theย violation of California Penal Code 148.1(a), which is a false report of a bomb threat.
- ESPN’sย Adam Schefterย adds that a false report of a bomb threat is punishable by up to a year in jail.

49ers GM Trent Baalke issued a statement on behalf of the 49ers regarding Aldon Smith incident:
โWe are disappointed to learn of the incident today involving Aldon Smith. As this is a pending legal matter and we are still gathering the pertinent facts, we will have no further comment.โ

San Francisco 49ers OLB Aldon Smith was arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport after allegedly screamed the word “bomb” inย Gate 6 of Terminal 1, via TMZ.
- Cam Inman of the Bay Area News mentions that Smith wasย belligerent and uncooperative with TSA.
- Matt Borrows of the Sacramento Bee reports thatย police Sgt. Karla Ortiz mentioned thatย it appeared that Smith had been drinking prior to the airport event.
This is not the first time that Aldon Smith has been involved in legal issues. ย Since 2012, Smith has been arrested for possession of marijuana, multiple DUI misconduct andย three felony assault weapon charges.
