Veteran K Sebastian Janikowski Retiring From NFL

According to Adam Schefter, K Sebastian Janikowski is retiring after 19 seasons in the NFL. 

“It was a good run,” Janikowski said. “I still think of the Super Bowl – it still hurts.”

Janikowski, 41, is a former first-round pick of the Raiders back in 2000. He spent the vast majority of his career, 17 seasons, with the Raiders before signing on for the 2018 season with the Seahawks.

In 2018, Janikowski made 22 of 27 field goal attempts (81.5%) as well as 48 of 51 PATs. 

For his career, Janikowski made 436 of 542 kicks for a career percentage of 80.4. He was also 605 for 614 all-time on PATs. 

Janikowski holds the NFL records for most field goals of 50+ yards in a career (58) and is tied for the most field goals of 60+ yards with two. He also attempted the longest field goal in NFL history at 76 yards. 

Janikowski’s 1913 career points currently rank as the tenth-most in NFL history.
