Veteran LB Jerrell Freeman Retiring From NFL

On Wednesday, veteran LB Jerrell Freeman announced that he’s retiring from the NFL.

Freeman, 31, spent four years with the Colts before signing a three-year, $12 million contract with $6 million guaranteed with the Bears in 2016. He was set to make a base salary of $3.5 million for the 2018 season when the Bears released him a few months ago in a moved that freed up $3.46 million of cap room.

In 2017, Freeman appeared in one game and recorded 10 tackles and no sacks.
