Veteran OT Jake Long Announces Retirement From NFL

On Monday, veteran OT Jake Long announced that he’s retiring from the NFL via his Twitter account.

Long, 31, is a former No. 1 overall pick by the Dolphins back in 2008. He spent five years in Miami before signing on with the Rams as an unrestricted free agent during the 2013 offseason.

After two seasons with the Rams, Long was released with a failed physical designation and later signed by the Falcons a few weeks into the 2015 season. The Vikings elected to bring Long in last year after the suffered some injuries to their offensive line, but he, unfortunately, suffered a torn Achilles and was placed on injured reserve a month later.

Long finishes his career as a four-time Pro Bowler. He was a first-team All-Pro in 2010 with the Dolphins.
