Veteran QB Luke McCown Retiring From NFL

Veteran QB Luke McCown announced Friday that he’s retiring from the NFL, according to his agent.

McCown, 36, was taken in the fourth round of the 2004 draft by the Browns. He’s a well-traveled quarterback who has played for a number of teams including the Jaguars, Falcons, Buccaneers, and Saints.

New Orleans re-signed McCown last year to a two-year, $3 million contract last year, but he was cut loose a just a month later. The Cowboys signed him to a contract during the summer only to release him during the preseason.

For his career, McCown played for five teams and threw for 2,370 yards while completing 60.7 percent of his passes to go along with nine touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
