Veteran RB Khiry Robinson Trying Out For Jets

According to Rich Cimini, free agent RB Khiry Robinson is back with the Jets on a tryout basis.

This is the first reported interest in Robinson since the Jets cut him loose a few months ago.

Robinson, 27, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M back in 2013. He managed to make the team’s 53-man roster in all three years with the Saints.

The Jets ultimately signed him to a one-year, $1.175 million contract as a free agent last year. However, he was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason.

New York later signed him to a two-year, $1,950,000 deal and he was set to make a base salary of $775,000 in 2017 when the team cut him loose this past March.

In 2016, Robinson appeared in one game and ran for 22 yards on eight carries (2.8 YPC) and no touchdowns.
