Vikings Exec. George Paton Declines Jets’ Interview Request For GM Job

Connor Hughes and Chad Graff are reporting that Vikings assistant GM George Paton has turned down the Jets’ interview request for their GM vacancy.

This is now the third time Paton has declined an interview request from the Jets.

The Jets are expected to begin interviewing candidates for the job on Thursday and into the weekend. Seahawks co-director of player personnel Scott Fitterer, Eagles VP of player personnel Joe Douglas and Bears assistant personnel director Champ Kelly are all scheduled to meet with the Jets.

Paton has been a popular name in GM searches over the past several years. However, he has declined to interview for a number of jobs to remain with the Vikings.

We’ll have more regarding the Jets’ GM search as the news is available.
