Vikings Re-Sign Veteran CB Terence Newman

The Minnesota Vikings announced Monday that they’ve re-signed veteran CB Terence Newman to a contract.

Reports had said that the Vikings were interested in bringing Newman back, and even though they used their first-round pick on CB Mike Hughes, it appears as though they felt they still had room on the 90-man roster for the veteran cornerback.

Newman, 39, is a former first-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2003. He spent nine years in Dallas before joining the Bengals in 2012.

Newman later caught on with the Vikings and played out the 2017 season on a one-year, $3.25 million contract.

In 2017, Newman appeared in 16 games for the Vikings and recorded 35 tackles, one interception, and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 66 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
