Bears Release Veteran DL C.J. Wilson

The Chicago Bears announced Friday that they’ve released veteran DL C.J. Wilson to make room for TE Ben Braunecker, who was promoted from their practice squad.

Wilson, 29, is a former seventh-round pick of the Packers back in 2010. Wilson played out his rookie contract with Green Bay before signing on with the Raiders as an unrestricted free agent back in 2014.

Wilson was released by the Lions before signing on with the Saints in June. Wilson was among the Saints’ roster cuts coming out of the preseason before signing on with the Bears a few days ago.

In 2015, Wilson has appeared in 12 games and recorded 12 11 tackles and sack between the Raiders and Lions.
