Packers Trading QB Brett Hundley To Seahawks

Adam Schefter and Rob Demovsky are reporting that the Packers are trading QB Brett Hundley to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2019 draft pick.

  • Ian Rapoport confirms the news and adds that the Packers will receive a 2019 sixth-round pick.

This, of course, means that the Packers will move forward with DeShone Kizer as their backup.

Hundley had been available for trade the past few years and it was clear that a move could be coming involving one of the backup quarterbacks for Green Bay. Hundley should be an upgrade to the Seahawks current backups — Austin Davis and Alex McGough.

Hundley, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Packers back in 2015. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2.504 million contract that included a $223,632 signing bonus and stands to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Hundley had appeared in 11 games and completed 60.8 percent of his passes for 1,836 yards to go along with nine touchdown and 11 interceptions. He has also rushed for 270 yards and two touchdowns.
