The Cleveland Browns signed WR Jordan Leslie to a future/reserve contract on Wednesday.

The Browns have now signed nine players to futures deals since their season ended including:

  1. WR Josh Boyce (NFLTR)
  2. LB James Burgess
  3. DL Trevon Coley
  4. DB Justin Currie
  5. DB Trae Elston
  6. DB Darius Hillary
  7. TE J.P. Holtz
  8. OL Zach Sterup
  9. WR Jordan Leslie

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.

Leslie, 24, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of BYU back in May of last year. He was among the Vikings’ roster cuts coming out of the preseason before later signing on to the Jaguars’ practice squad during the season.

The Falcons elected to sign Leslie to a future/reserve contract this past January but he was once again among the final roster cuts. Leslie later signed on to the Titans’ practice squad only to be waived a few weeks later.

The Browns eventually signed him to their practice squad in October.

Leslie has yet to a appear in an NFL game.
