Former Bills RB Karlos Williams Goes Unclaimed, Now A Free Agent

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that former RB Karlos Williams was not claimed off of waivers on Monday.

The Bills made it clear that Williams’ conditioning was a major issue and left him behind their other running backs. Reports mentioned that Williams showed up to offseason workouts between 20-25 pounds overweight.

It’s worth mentioning that Williams received a four-game suspension for violating the league’s Substances of Abuse Policy.

Williams, 23, was taken in the fifth round of last year’s NFL Draft by the Bills. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2,495,352 rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Williams appeared in 11 games for the Bills and ran for 517 yards on 93 carries (5.6 YPC) to go along with 11 receptions for 96 yards receiving and 9 total touchdowns.
