Broncos & Saints Not Interested Signing RB Ray Rice

Update:

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that the Saints have “zero interest” in free agent RB Ray Rice, despite previous reports that they had shown some interest.

Meanwhile, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports that the Broncos are not “currently” among the interested teams in Rice.

Rice, 27, is reportedly in great shape, even though he hasn’t participated in football activities since training camp. According to Schefter, “Rice is determined to sign with the right team in the right situation or he’s prepared to wait to see what additional opportunities present themselves this off-season.”

We’ll have more updates as the news is available.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that “at least” four NFL teams have looked into the idea of signing recently-reinstated RB Ray Rice.

According to Schefter, the Colts and Saints are among these teams. However, neither is expected to sign Rice to a contract.

Schefter adds that Rice will have a hard time finding work before the end of the season, but he doesn’t completely rule out the possibility that someone could sign him.

The Saints are an interesting option given they are still in the mix for playoff spot and it’s not as though they are all that concerned with what NFL commissioner Roger Goodell thinks.
