Giants Expected To Be An Option For Stevie Brown

Dan Graziano of ESPN writes that recently released S Stevie Brown returning the Giants is something worth keeping an eye on the coming days.

The Texans decision to release Brown was because he  wasn’t likely to make their 53-man roster, and he wanted to pursue other opportunities, according to Graziano.

Graziano points out that Brown didn’t want to leave the Giants when he signed a one-year contract with the Texans back in April, and their current safety issues leave them in a position to offer him a decent amount of playing time.

In fact, ESPN’s Anita Marks reported that Brown told her he was hoping to return to the Giants.

Conor Orr of NFL.com mentioned shortly after his release that Brown being available could be a “gift dropping right into Giants’ lap,” as long he’s healthy.

Brown, 28, could also find  interest from other teams in need of safety help such as the Bears and Dolphins.

In 2014, Brown appeared in all 16 games for the Giants last season and recorded 38 tackles, one sack, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 47 safety out of 87 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Brown and options as the news is available.
