The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Saturday that they’ve promoted TE Alex Ellis to their active roster and waived DT Richard Ash in a corresponding roster move.
Ellis, 23, originally signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee. The Titans, unfortunately, waived him as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit.
He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
During his two-year college career at Tennesee, Ellis recorded 14 receptions for 232 yards receiving and one touchdown.
Ash, 24, signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan back in 2015. However, Jacksonville decided to cut him as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit.
The Jaguars signed him to their practice after clearing waivers and eventually promoted him to the active roster but once again cut him loose in the preseason during roster cuts.
He has bounced on and off the team’s practice squad since then.
So far this season, Ash has appeared in one game for the Jaguars.
