NFL Notes: Extensions, Browns, Dolphins, Lions

Extensions

Joel Corry of CBS Sports takes a look at the top 10 star players and their chances of signing long-term extensions before the start of the 2017 season in his latest article.

Some of the players worth keeping an eye on in the coming months include:

Browns

  • Browns RB Isaiah Crowell said heโ€™s still hoping to get a long-term deal done at some point: โ€œWeโ€™re trying to get something done. And get it done right.โ€ (Scott Petrak)
  • Crowell did say that he expects to have a โ€œmonster yearโ€ for the Browns. (Tony Grossi)

Dolphins

Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry told reporters that theyโ€™ve had some โ€œback and forthโ€ regarding a long-term extension, but thereโ€™s nothing considered imminent at this point in time.

โ€œWe talked back and forth, but thereโ€™s nothing really going on,โ€ Landry said, via the Miami Herald. โ€œWeโ€™re just really kind of focusing on right now, today. Thatโ€™s the priority right now.โ€

Lions

  • Lions HC Jim Caldwell said theyโ€™ve moved away from the fullback position in their offense scheme, which is why they recently cut Michael Burton. (Tim Twentyman)
  • Caldwell also mentioned that theyโ€™ve moved Alex Carter to safety permanently and believe his size and skill set will work well at the position. (Tim Twentyman)
