Redskins HC Jay Gruden announced Monday that they’re signing RB Kenny Hilliard to a contract following the injury to Keith Marshall, per JP Finlay.
Hilliard, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Texans back in May of 2015. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to their practice squad at the start of the season.
The Texans elected to bring Hilliard back on a future/reserve contracts each of the past two years but he was cut loose a few weeks after this year’s NFL draft.
Hillard has yet to appear in an NFL game.
