Giants Place LB J.T. Thomas On I.R. & Promote LB Nico Johnson

The New York Giants announced Thursday that they’ve placed LB J.T. Thomas and LS Danny Aiken on season-ending injured reserve.

  • The Giants also promoted LB Nico Johnson and LS Tyler Ott to their active roster.

Thomas, 27, is in the first year of his three-year, $12 million contract that includes $4.5 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $975,000 this season to go along with another $2.975 million in 2016.

In 2015, Thomas appeared in 12 games and recorded 47 tackles and a half sack for the Giants. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 28 outside linebacker in a 4-3 out of 34 qualifying players.
