Raiders Moving To San Diego For 2017 Or 2018 Considered “Very Viable”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that if the Chargers move to Los Angeles, the possibility exists that the Raiders could then relocate to San Diego for the 2017 or 2018 season.

A source tells Schefter that a Raiders move to San Diego “very viable.”

As of now, the Raiders are expected to remain in Oakland for the 2016 season, but there are serious questions about their future in the Bay Area.

The Chargers and Rams are still working on an agreement that would lead to them both playing Los Angeles. Recent reports have said that a deal between the two teams could be in place in the coming weeks.

Should no deal get done and the Chargers elect to remain in San Diego, the Raiders would get an opportunity to join the Rams in Inglewood. Owner Mark Davis would reportedly love to be back in L.A., but the Rams seem to have some concerns about the Raiders joining them.

One other option for the Raiders could be San Antonio, as city officials have been courting the Raiders for a few years now.

We’ll have more regarding the Raiders possible relocation as the news is available.
