On Thursday, 49ers GM John Lynch said that C Weston Richburg underwent surgery on his knee and quad after the season, per Matt Barrows.
According to Lynch, Richburg’s rehab will be extensive and last right up to the start of training camp.
Richburg, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Giants back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $4,877,346 contract with the Giants before agreeing to a five-year, $47.5 million deal with the 49ers that included $28.5 million guaranteed.
Richburg stands to make base salaries of $5.5 million and $6.5 million over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Richburg appeared in 11 games for the 49ers and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 33 center out of 38 qualifying players.
