49ers Reportedly Fire 10 Coaches Including OC Geep Chryst

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that new 49ers HC Chip Kelly has begun making changes to the team’s coaching staff by parting ways with 10 coaches.

According to Florio, the 49ers are firing OC Geep Chryst, QBs coach Steve Logan, WRs coaches Adam Henry and Ronald Curry, secondary coach Tim Lewis, DL coach Scott Brown, defensive assistants Ejiro Evero and Aubrayo Franklin, and offensive assistants T.C. McCartney and Joe Scola.

There has already been talk of Kelly bringing in some of his former assistants to add to his coaching staff including WRs coach Bob Bicknell and QBs coach Ryan Day.

Chryst, 53, began his NFL coaching career with the Bears back in 1991 as an offensive assistant. He has coached for a number of teams since then including the Cardinals, Chargers, and Panthers before joining the 49ers as their QBs coach in 2011.

After San Francisco parted ways with Jim Harbaugh last year, Chryst was promoted to offensive coordinator, due to his relationship with QB Colin Kaepernick.

In 2015, the 49ers’ offense ranked No. 31 in total yards, No. 29 in passing yards, No. 21 in rushing yards and No. 32 in total points.
