49ers Placing LB Ray-Ray Armstrong On I.R. WIth Pectoral Injury

The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that they’re placing LB Ray-Ray Armstrong on injured reserve with pectoral injury.

Armstrong, 25, originally signed on with the Rams as an signed undrafted free agent out of Miami back in 2013. He lasted over year in St. Louis before he was waived and later claimed by the Raiders in October of 2014.

The 49ers wound up claimed off of waivers from the Raiders in November of last year and played out the final year of his three-year, $1.485 million rookie contract before re-signing with San Francisco on a one-year deal this past March.

This season, Armstrong has recorded eight tackles, an interception, a fumble recovery and two pass defenses for the 49ers over the course of two games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 20 linebacker out of 80 qualifying players.
