The San Francisco 49ers announced Thursday that they’ve released LB Brock Coyle and re-signed ERFA LB Elijah Lee to a one-year deal.
Coyle, 28, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Montana back in 2014. He played out his rookie contract, but Seattle declined to make him an offer sheet, which allowed him to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent.
The 49ers later signed him to a one-year contract before bringing him back on a three-year, $8.4 million contract that included $4.1 million guaranteed. Coyle was set to make a base salary of $2.05 million in 2019.
In 2018, Coyle appeared one game for the 49ers and recorded six tackles and no sacks.
