The San Francisco 49ers announced Wednesday that they’ve signed OL Andrew Gardner to a one-year contract and waived OL Josh Allen.
Gardner, 30, is a former sixth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2009. He spent just over a year in Miami before bouncing around with a number of teams including the Ravens, Vikings, Bengals and Texans before eventually signing on with the Eagles in 2014.
Gardner agreed to take a pay cut from the Eagles while he was in the second year of his four-year, $5.495 million contract and would have made a base salary of $1,183,333 for the 2016 season.
Unfortunately, Gardner was among Philadelphia’s roster cuts during the final week of the preseason.
In 2015, Gardner appeared in three games for the Eagles before he was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a foot injury.
