The San Francisco 49ers are bringing in three linebackers for tryouts this week, according to Aaron Wilson.

The full list of players who are trying out includes:

  1. LB Jonas Griffith
  2. LB Vosean Joseph
  3. LB Corey Nelson

Nelson, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,268,600 contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season before signing a one-year, $1.6 million contract with the Eagles.

Unfortunately, the Eagles elected to release Nelson in a move that cleared $1 million of available cap space. After a brief stint with the Falcons, Nelson signed a futures contract with the Buccaneers but was among their final roster cuts.

Nelson returned to the Broncos at the start of 2019, but his season was cut short when he tore his bicep during Week 8. He became a free agent in March of 2020 and has most recently tried out with the Carolina Panthers in August.

In 2019, Nelson appeared in seven games for the Broncos, recording ten tackles and no sacks.
