49ers Waive DL Demarcus Dobbs

ESPN’s Adam Caplan is reporting that the 49ers are waiving DL Demarcus Dobbs on Tuesday.

This move would allow the 49ers to add DL Glenn Dorsey to their active roster from the injured reserve list. Aldon Smith is getting closer to returning as well, so he’s another name to keep an eye on.

Dobbs, 26, signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia back in 2011. He signed a one year contract worth $1.43 million with San Francisco during the offseason.

He has appeared in six games for the 49ers and recorded 10 tackles while playing a total of 79 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
