49ers Win Coin Toss For No. 9 Overall Pick

On Friday, the NFL held the ceremonial coin toss to determine which team gets the No. 9 and No. 10 overall picks between the 49ers and Raiders. Unfortunately for the Raiders, the 49ers won the coin toss and will get the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

This will impact picks in all seven rounds including the second-round pick the 49ers sent to the Patriots in return for QB Jimmy Garoppolo last year.New England now receives the No. 43 overall pick from the 49ers.

Both teams finished the with a record of 6-10 (56.3 percent) and a strength of schedule 51.2 percent because they’re in opposite conferences, the tie is determined by a coin flip.

Last year, the Eagles and Vikings had a coin toss to determine draft order, so it’s not all that uncommon to have a coin flip to finalize the draft order.

We’ll have the finalized 2018 NFL Draft Order posted later today.
