AFC East Notes: Bills, Dolphins, Patriots

Bills

  • The Bills announced that rookie WR Ray-Ray McCloud has been ruled out from Week 7 due to a “non-injury” reason.
  • Bills signed WR Robert Foster to their practice squad. (NFLTR)

Dolphins

  • According to Armando Salguero, there is “doubt” within the Dolphins about QB Ryan Tannehill‘s future with the team.
  • Regarding Tannehill’s contract, Salguero mentions that the quarterback is owed $26.6 million next season and the Dolphins could create $13.2 million in cap space by releasing him.
  • Salguero says that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross isn’t enthusiastic about totally rebuilding the team, which means they might look to the free agent market for a potential replacement to Tannehill if it comes down to them moving on next year.
  • Some of the notable free agent quarterbacks next year include Teddy Bridgewater, Nick Foles, Tyrod Taylor and Brock Osweiler, so the Dolphins would have to be convinced that one of these quarterbacks is going to be an upgrade to Tannehill to move on from him as their starter.

Patriots

  • Jeff Howe reports Patriots WR Julian Edelman (ankle) is traveling with the team to the Chicago Bears after being listed as questionable.
  • Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is “highly unlikely” to play in Week 7’s game after not traveling with the team to Chicago. (NFLTR)
