Dolphins
- Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that Dolphins GM Chris Grier knew last year how badly Texans HC Bill OโBrien wanted LT Laremy Tunsil, so he continued to keep asking for more and more, knowing OโBrien might eventually give in to his asking price.
- In the end, Miami walked away with two first-rounders, a second-rounder and OT Julieโn Davenport in the trade for Tunsil.
- According to Jordan Reid, the Dolphins have shown interest in Florida State CB Levonta Taylor.
- Michigan G Michael Onwenu had a private visit with the Dolphins before the shutdown. (Justin Melo)
Jets
- Jordan Reid reports that Louisville OT Mekhi Becton recently had FaceTime meetings with the Jets, Browns, Chargers, and Buccaneers this week.
- Ralph Vacchiano wonders if it makes more sense for the team to draft an offensive tackle such as Georgiaโs Andrew Thomas or Louisvilleโs Mekhi Becton, or if the team should go with a top receiver prospect such as Alabamaโs Jerry Jeudy or Oklahomaโs CeeDee Lamb.
- While Vacchiano believes wide receiver is the Jetsโ biggest need at this point, he notes that if the team selects a tackle in round one, they may be able to circle back and draft a talented receiver in the second round such as Clemsonโs Tee Higgins, Notre Dameโs Chase Claypool, Baylorโs Denzel Mims, USCโs Michael Pittman, or TCUโs Jalen Reagor.
- Jordan Reid reports that La. Tech CB Amik Robertson has had virtual meetings with 19 teams including the Jets.
Patriots
- ESPNโs Mike Reiss lists FIU QB James Morgan, SMU WR James Proche, Notre Dame TE Cole Kmet, Dayton TE Adam Trautman, Temple C Matt Hennessy, South Carolina DE D.J. Wonnum and Wyoming LB Logan Wilson as potential fits for the Patriots.
- Reiss notes that it appears the Patriots may be moving assistant QB coach Mick Lombardi to WR coach with Troy Brown, while newly hired Jedd Fisch works as the QB coach with OC Josh McDaniel.
