AFC East Notes: Dolphins, Jets, Patriots

Dolphins

Dolphins HC Brian Flores said RB Kenyan Drake is expected to be on the team’s 53-man roster for the rest of the season.

“Yeah, I do. Unless there’s some other situation that presents itself. I can’t sit here and predict the future, but yeah, I do,” via Adam Beasley.

Jets

Jets HC Adam Gase said their medical staff is doing a “deep” examination of LB C.J. Mosley‘s groin injury to determine if he is dealing with any other damage.

Doctors are doing a really deep dive trying to figure out where things (discomfort) are coming from,” Gase said, via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “It might just be more than the groin. We’re trying to figure stuff out.

  • Gase added that the Jets should have more details about Mosley’s injury within the next 24 hours.
  • Jets QB Sam Darnold said he’s not dwelling on his poor performance against the Patriots in Week 6 and is focused on their upcoming game against the Jaguars: “For me, I was able to get over it on my own. Right when I started watching Jacksonville film, right there I was done with it.” (Ralph Vacchiano)
  • The Jets are listening to offers for former first-round pick Leonard Williams. According to Breer, the Chiefs and Eagles are seen as “sensible landing spots” for Williams if the price is right, which could be around a third-round pick.

Patriots

  • According to Albert Breer, Patriots TE Ryan Izzo came up as a potential trade candidate this week with DE Michael Bennett also being a name to keep an eye on.
  • The New England Patriots announced that they did not officially release TE Eric Tomlinson on Wednesday and he’s still on their active roster.
