AFC East Rumors: Dolphins, Jets, Patriots

  • Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network has spoken with several sources close to the situation who have said the Dolphins like Utah State QB Jordan Love.
  • However, a source tells Pauline that they would “absolutely shocked” if the Dolphins took Love at No. 5 overall. Instead, Miami could consider Love at No. 18 or possibly in a trade up from that spot should they go in a different direction at No. 5 overall.
  • As for Oregon QB Justin Herbert, Pauline hears Miami has been quiet on him and they have given no indication that he’s their target.
  • Jason La Canfora reports that teams seem to be convinced the Dolphins are “super intrigued” by Jordan Love, but he doubts they are interested enough to walk away from Tua Tagovailoa.
  • Matt Miller of B/R says there’s “growing buzz” that Justin Herbert is the Dolphins’ guy.
  • Tom Pelissero reports that the Dolphins are among the team’s in the top 10 picks that have shown interest in Georgia OT Andrew Thomas.

  • Jason La Canfora reports that people around the league expect Jets GM Joe Douglas to take an offensive line in round one.
  • Tom Pelissero reports that the Jets had dinner with Georgia OT Andrew Thomas and put him through a private workout the next morning before the NFL shutdown predraft visits.
  • Pelissero adds that the Jets also had dinner and a workout with Alabama OL Jedrick Wills and hosted Louisville OL Mekhi Becton on a 30 visit. New York video chatted with Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs
  • Mike Garafolo reports that Utah DE Bradlee Anae has had teleconference meetings with the Jets, Lions, Bears, Titans and, Browns recently. Garafolo also says that Anae will likely be chosen on the second day of the draft.
