AFC North Notes: Bengals, Browns, Ravens, Steelers

Bengals

  • The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. thinks the Bengals should seriously consider pursuing a trade for Raiders G Gabe Jackson. In a hypothetical trade, Dehner Jr tosses out WR John Ross as someone that could be included in the deal.
  • Dehner also highlights Bears LB Nick Kwiatkoski and Cowboys LB Sean Lee as options the Bengals might find more appealing than shelling out $10-$12 million for Browns LB Joe Schobert
  • ESPN’s Ben Baby confirms the Bengals are exploring the idea of signing RB Joe Mixon to an extension before the start of the regular season.
  • Asked about putting a significant investment in a running back, Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin responded: “You pay players. You pay individuals. And if they’re important to you, then they are guys you want to maintain, regardless of the position.”
  • Bengals WR Auden Tate received medical clearance to return to football activities. Tate ended 2019 on injured reserve with a knee injury. (Baby)

Browns

  • The Browns had a formal Combine interview and scheduled a private workout and private visit with Boise State OT Ezra Cleveland. (Justin M)

Ravens

Steelers

  • The Athletic’s Mark Kaboly doesn’t see Pittsburgh moving on from CB Mike Hilton, as a little over $3 million is pretty reasonable for as much as he plays.
  • Conversely, Kaboly doesn’t think Steelers S Sean Davis will be open to returning after the team traded for his replacement.
  • Michigan WR Donovan Peoples-Jones has a meeting currently set up with the Steelers. (Michael Rothstein)
  • The Steelers scheduled a private visit with Boise State OT Ezra Cleveland. (Justin M)
